AutismOne 2020: The Cutting-Edge Autism Conference

  • Loews Chicago O'Hare Hotel 5300 North River Road Rosemont, IL, 60018 United States (map)

AutismOne is a nonprofit, parent-driven organization that provides education and supports advocacy efforts for children and families touched by an autism diagnosis.

Join Dr. Elice at the upcoming Spring Conference in Chicago as he will provide an overview of how the physician can evaluate the patient diagnosed on the autism spectrum. It will include the importance of obtaining a detailed history, performing a complete physical exam, and the resultant differential diagnosis.

In addition, Dr. Elice will also be giving a presentation focusing on the underlying causes of autism spectrum disorders as autoimmune inflammatory disorders. Recognition of symptoms so often described as "behaviors" is essential to understanding the underlying reasons "why" the patient has these problems rather than "what" the behaviors are: G=genetic, environmental, food, infection, and toxic triggers and how they come together to create a perfect storm of inflammation in the nervous system. Treatment alternatives and how to properly investigate and implement them will be reviewed.
